Default 1999 honda Civic starting problem.

Ok so I have a starting problem. If you let the car sit it will start right up after a hour or more. I can go one time a day and it will fire right up and purr like a kitten. But if I go uptown and shut it off it will sorta start and stutter a lot and you have to play with the gas pedal and sometimes it just stalls. Then after that it will just crank and crank and wont start. I heard it had weak spark etc. It had a bad spring in the dizzy though could that be the problem? It was all bent at the end. Plus my second O2 sensor is all melted could that be the problem aswell? I have the heater core hoses looped because that leaked so I have no heat aswell. And the hoses that go from the antifreeze line I have those looped aswell so no antifreeze goes into the throttle body.
Could this also be a problem that my cam is sorta rounded. It's like it was ran for 80 years theres not really any lobes on it but theres enough to start it and run great.

My mods.
Freshly rebuilt
Short ram intake
4-2-1 header
No cat
N1 muffler on the end

Betcha there's no bulb in the MIL socket. There should be one for the misfire.....at very least.

The IACV is not connected? That's most likely your warm start problem.

Does the CEL come on for a few seconds when you start the car?

Honestly no. I turn the key one turn. It beeps. Next turn the D4 lights comes on while the fuel pump humms. Then the light turns off as soon as the relay clicks once inside the glovebox. Then after that I start the car. But the only light that comes on it the battery light then goes off when the car starts. The brake light always stays on. ((It was the e brake causing that light but it isn't anymore somehow.))

You need to fix the bulb for your CEL.

I looked in there the last time I had it out they seemed to be all working but I'll try. My buddy said it could be the distributor cap. But I'm not to sure.

If your CEL is not working you need to determine why, then fix it then pull your codes.

Can't remember if the MIL bulb is readily available or not. I replaced some of my HVAC bulbs last winter and they all had to come from Honda. You should also be able to swap in another bulb in a pinch, like the seatbelt one. Use the FAQ in this forum to pull the codes.

DO get your coolant pluming sorted though. If the IACV thinks the motor is cold, it will be on full choke when you go to start even if it's up to operating temp. That's why it coughs unless you open the throttle plate manually with the gas pedal.
