1993 Integra GSR problems
So for the past week I've been noticing my car does not want to rev at all past 6500-7000 rpm, but it only does this after a while of driving. I always allow my car to warm up before i drive it, and it doesnt do it immediately, but a few miles down the road it will hesitate badly in the higher part of the revs, and feels very bogged down. I cannot figure it out whatsoever. The other day iw as driving and it was doing it badly, stopped for not even 5 minutes at a store, and resumed driving, and it ran well for a few minutes, then started acting up again. Any help and opinions would be appreciated, thank you.
When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter?
The PGM-FI Main Relay is a common problem on older Honda/Acura and heat related.
The coil is also a common heat related problem along with the ICM, [ICM will normally just stop working].
The PGM-FI Main Relay is almost always repairable with a little soldering, search Honda main relay repair. 94

I actually just bought a new fuel filter today. Also, the main relay is new. I was thinking something to do with the distributor, since it only does it when the car is driven for a decent period of time, also i never get any check engine lights when it happens, but its as if the car is misfiring, or a fuel cut is at about 7000 rpm.
Does anyone think it could be the fuel pump going out? im stumped as to what is wrong, and like most people i dont have money to keep throwing at it lol. Something always breaks or goes wrong as soon as i buy something i want for the car, in this case an exhaust lol. If anyone could help me out, itd be much appreciated, thank you!
wallbro seems to be the pump of choice:

I just want to know for sure its the fuel pump, I can't really tell... It doesn't sound like its weak when I turn the key, which probably has nothing to do with it, but its frustrating, and I pulled the spark plugs out, which are new, with about 400 miles on em, and they were white, and the base of the threads was black, I'll post a pic when I get a chance. They're NGK v power plugs. Also, white would mean its running too lean right? I'm so stumbled by the problem lol thanks for all the opinions
As I said, a fuel pressure gauge will tell you if the fuel pump is going out.
You can get them as cheap as $25 to permanantly mount at the fuel filter, or rent one that you can temporaly connect and "mount" so you can see it while driving.
Doing a fuel pump on a G2 is a real PITA as you will need to drop the gas tank to do it, so you want to make sure it is the problem, although if it is original, it's due for a new one anyway, if not now, very soon. 94

I'd like to clean and inspect the tank anyway and make sure there isn't anything in there that is undesirable. The fuel pressure is supposed to be around 40psi I believe right? Thank you
Alright thank you. What would be the purpose of people disconnecting the vacuum from the regulator on a stock motor? I've seen some people do it but don't quite understand. Again, thanks for all the info!
That's what I thought, thank you! So the problem is very intermittent, as of late it rarely does it. But VTEC engagements are not very smooth. And the plugs are quite white, so maybe ignition problem?
They are NGK v power plugs, wires are old. Not sure how old though, and I was thinking it could be the distributor also. I'll pull the plugs tomorrow and post a picture, Thank you
Little update, and one question. So the car has been running good lately, but i havent changed a thing. Maybe bad gas one day? I just found it really weird that it only did it when it was really warm and driven for a while. And my question is, I put an HKS hi power on, and it doesn't sound all that great, its not really loud like i've seen many say, and it doesnt sound like any other one i've heard. Any suggestions on a good setup with that exhaust? Right now its a dc 4-2-1 2 piece header and an ebay test pipe, and im just unhappy with it as of right now, any suggestions would help, thanks everyone
