Icon6 Need help with Code 8. Random engine shutoff.

What's up everyone. I've got a 91 DX hatch with a DPFI D15B7 motor.
Two weeks ago I was driving back home from school and my car randomly shut off as I went into neutral to stop at a red light. The ECU was throwing a code 8 (TDC sensor). I tried starting it up again but it would only crank. After 5 minutes or so it started up like a champ.
I know that the sensor is inside the distributor but my dizzy is only a year and a half old so it seems odd that it would crap out on me.
I took my car to a reputable mechanic near my house and he couldn't find any problems after keeping it for 3 days but my car died again today as I pulled into my driveway. I started it up right away and it ran like a champ so I'm really lost on what this could be.

Anybody who can help?

Check the wiring to the distributor and the plugs that go to it. You may have a bad connection. That could cause your issue since it's not constant. Also, if this doesn't work, remove your distributor cap and look at the ignitor. Make sure the connectors are making good contact. I have seen wires shake loose and such and that will throw you some wild codes without anything being wrong. The ECU is just trying to finish it's circuit, and if it can't it will tell you that whatever it was trying to communicate with it 'broken.'

That makes sense that it may be the wiring to the distributor. That whole set of wiring was repaired a while back so a wire may be hanging on and causing a break in the circuit right?
I've checked the ignitor already and everything is connected still.
