So I've swapped my 5 speed CRV, with a B20B/B16A, all has gone well. And I'm working on the next and most necessary supporting mod... An exhaust system.

My main concern lies with the exhaust header. For those of you that don't know, the CRV has a lower hanging transmission with a hub for the pump/drive shaft.

So I'm trying to figure out, how do I determine which header will fit? I know it needs to be one with a longer down pipe/collector, so it will clear. After that, it's going to be easy because we're running a 2.5" exhaust straight under the car, and through where the RWD diff sat. Muffler, cat, ect.

And I'm not lowered, so clearance isn't an issue.

I've done a fair bit of research, but it seems everyone on CRV Owners forum is running an OBX or DC header from ebay. I'm not interested in thin pipes, uneven runners, and poor finish.

Go custom. Should be able to get one done for $6-700. Then you can get the tube size and fitment you want.

 

I'd really like to do that, but I live in Canada. Asking a race shop to build a custom header here is like $1200. It's perfect for the job. Just too overkill for my application.

Was thinking to pick up one off of kijiji locally, used for like $3-400, or get new for $500 top end.
