I have a 1999 Honda Civic DX Hatchback, and recently it has started to have this whitish/clear smoke from the tail pipe. Granted it has started to get colder out so I know its normal as it warms up, but even after driving for a good 20 mins it hasn't stopped doing it like it normally would since the whole car would be warm.

Things I know are:
- my coolant level hasnt changed since this began
-oil level has not changed either
-my temperature stays normal
-no loss of power
-compression is good

I am aware this may be a bit of a noobish question, but I would rather be safe than sorry. If anyone knows if this is a problem that is just starting or if it is it a normal occurance, please respond asap

 

Is your oil milky? Pull your spark plugs and see if any of the plugs or the top of the pistons look clean and new... these would be indications of a HG issue... other than that it simply could be cold air condensation... is the bottom of your oil cap creamy looking?

 

Hate to state the obvious answer but could be a head gasket

My compression is 140psi - 150psi across all cylinders, oil is not milky

 

Did you check your plugs and top of pistons? You could still have a head gasket leak but slight enough that it is burning off the water... if a cylinder has what appears to be a new plug (no fouling and clean) with a piston head that also is very clean, you more than likely have a blown HG...

 

Can you post a vid? It might just be normal condensate if temps are low enough where you are at...
