Knock Sensor
I have 92 accord with swapped engine of 97 accord (1.8) F18Bhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_F_engine#F18B. ECU is F23A works well.
Previously I had CEL light when ever car is in high RPM. The code was for Knock Sensor. Orignally this engine did not had knock sensor installed.
I Purchased one and installed with shielded cable. Now car works even better in terms of response. Only difference is car would throw CEL when RPM is above 5k RPM.
Question is What should i further do to diagnose that what is the fault?
1. Is Knock Sensor bad?
2. Wiring cannot be because i verified it
3. Installed above Oil filter.
My One Exhaust bold is broken inside head. It makes annoying sound. Could it be the culprit of causing engine knock frequencies or something?

Your best bet is to use either a chipped ecu or a 96-97 f22b1 ecu which doesn't use a knock sensor. I'm not sure why it's throwing a code except perhaps the location is not good enough and when you get into the upper rpms it makes too much noise and throws the code as a result.
It's very very easy to remove a broken bolt. You just need to buy an extractor kit and a drill set and use whatever bit the extractor kit says to use for the extractor you're going to be using. You just drill a small hole in the bolt and then punch the extractor in and grab the end of the extractor with a pair of vice grips and it turns out bringing the bolt with it. The extractor is designed to tighten lefty so when you remove it it will stay in the bolt.

Question. In case F22B1 does not use Knock how does it knows when to adjust timing?
also can i know the ECU number of that engine
Thanks for extractor tip.Brought the kit today

The computer itself adjusts timing accordingly normally using the crank sensor/tdc sensor etc.
The knock sensor is only used to detect knock and when it detects knock the ecu will retard the timing a click at a time until the knock stops.
Regarding the extractor kit you want the hole to be in the middle as much as possible so use a punch to punch a hole right in the middle and start off by using a bit that's smaller than the one you're supposed to use and drill the hole to help start the one you need to actually use.

I installed the Knock Sensor. The car feels to have some improved power but the check light still comes on for knock sensor.
I have used shielded cable. Inner wire goes to sensor and outer wire is ground. is it correct?
