Default How low's my eg?

I bought a lowered eg hatch but the last owner didn't know how low it was. Is there any standard point(s) I can measure that'll tell me how I compare to stock?

Thanks,
Chase

why do you need to know? Normally when you buy springs they will tell you what the drop is.

Use the top of fenders or lift points

More than anything I'm just curious, but I'm also looking at getting some wheels that are going to be tight fit and would like to know what to expect (I'll probably get them either way). If I had another eg to compare to it'd be easy, but are there any baseline measurements? I searched but can't find much.

Thanks,
Chase

I don't understand what you guys mean when you say to use the lift points, what am I measuring if I don't have stock measurements? Also all I know at the moment is that they're 17"'s. I have no problem rolling the fenders. Here's the wheels:

Whats the point of measuring your car compared to stock height?? If u have 17s on your car why dont u go look for the same car thats not lowered sitting on the same wheel and tire setup u have a measure it yourself? google how to use a tape measure if u dont kno how...that eg had 2 different style of rims on it siiiickkk

You realize those are two different types of rims.

My Ranger is my baby, the civics just something to get me through the winter. The 15" steelies on the car now are all bent up and make the car seem like a washing machine full of bowling ***** at anything over 55. I'll just get the wheels and see how they fit. I just figured someone would know a baseline for a stock eg but its no bi deal.

Well perhaps if you could measure certain points on the car as suggested people could tell you what those points are on their car or something. Perhaps you could post a picture of your car to help get an idea of how low it is. Do you know anything about the suspension on the car?

I would rather shake down the road than put unmatched 17's on a hatch. my .02

If you were closer I would sell u my spare 15" wheels that came on my car for a steal.

Dude, skip those lame *** 17's they dont even match. Unless you're getting them for like $50 for all 4. Post up some pics of your car and most people can at least give you a base line idea of how lowered it is. Or better yet, LOOK at the springs for a part # and what brand they are then google it.
If they are not marked they are no name and not worth keeping anyways.

Yeah I would pass on the 17" wheels, especially since they aren't even all the same wheels. I wouldn't put those on my car if they were free. Maaaaybe if someone paid me to. And only if it was for like a month or two. lol

Well I probably should have checked the thread... I got the wheels, probably shouldn't of but I got working upholders, anew dash bezel piece (mine has a broken vent), and a shift **** for a buddy. I mounted up the left side (I just put both on the rear) as I need different lug nuts for the right side so I'll do those tomorrow. So far just around the neighborhood (my neighborhood has some serious holes) the passenger side is fine but there's a tab that rubs on the drivers side that'll be easy to take care of. Here's some crappy pics:

Hahha yeah... they're pretty bad. I may just throw them on Craigslist to trade for a set of straight steelies.

This may be the smartest decision in the whole thread, those things are rediculous big and not in a good way...

It doesn't really pertain to the thread but I don't want to start a new one so: do all eg headlights suck or just mine? Mine are awful so I'm going to get some off road lights to use as fogs to supplement my headlights. I like tipping around paved farm and twisty lake roads late at night and my lights just do not cut it.

as far as the wheels are concerned , maybe get lucky and trade them to someone for some stock alloys?
Now, you could always look into an HID kit for the lights, they will help but it may also get you a ticket if its illegal in your area. If you do go for the driving lights try to get some oem ones, my hatch had aftermarket (oem style) fog lights w/ an HID kit the kid swore was "installed correctly" and the damn things started to smoke and burn wiring a week after I bought it. Oh well I was planning on yanking them out anyway to make more room for intercooler piping. Just do it right whatever you end up doing.

I would definitely wire it all correctly from scratch. I'm not going hid as im just not a fan. My only concern is that no vehicle I've ever driven, (not much after '05) where I was able to test them out, had decent fog lights and seemed to be more for looks than any actual light. Do the stock eg ones actually light up the road a bit?

To answer OP's original question, it looks like you are lowered somewhere between 2 and 3 inches, probably closer to 3.

And get rid of those awful rims. Theyre too big.
