A good friend of mine was racing on the freeway tonite... when all of a sudden a cop pulled him over... so he pulled over.. and when the cops got out of their car.. instead it was a JACKING... one of the two guys pulled a gun to my friends head (passenger) and told him to give him to give him all his money, cell, etc! so they did so... and rite after that.. they let my two friends go! they didnt take the car, thank god! This happened 5 min away from Riverside on the 60

So let it be known to all so cal peeps.. let your friends know too! that theres a pair of fake cops rolling around.. with what looks like an unmarked cop car! (red light, and those annoying lights that blind you that are on the side mirrors!) so be careful... i would hate for this to happen to a fellow h-t member!

 

What did advice did the police give your friends when they filed a police report?

 

they just said.. that they'll keep a look out (WOW how reasurring) they said they'll keep a look out as well.. thats about it

 

So the gave no advice on how to prevent this from happening again in the future?

Don't all police cars have blue AND red lights?

 

in my opinion theres really nothing we can do! are we suppose to keep going and just wait for another cop to roll up and then pull over! they were very rude to us.. as if they didnt believe us.. they jus said "well if this happens to you or any of your racer friends be sure to get the license plate number and a description of the suspects!" that pretty much sucks!

 

Your friends didn't pursue the thieves or get their license plate number?

Maybe it's a new program to teach kids a lesson about street racing.

 

i dunno.. but in so cal.. i got pulled over by a all white chp who jus turned on his red light... a traffic school instructor told us that.. red light first.. then if they dont respond.. they put on the dome lights...and then if they dont respond they throw on the sirens, etc.. not sure if its correct tho

 

That sucks! Definitely keep a lookout... I'm pretty sure all cop cars have blue lights too, so...

What read said. Your friends didn't get a plate #, good description of car and what these 2 ******** looked like? If it happened to me and the Cops didn't believe me, I'd be furious..

I guess I am wondering how they asked him to pull over. siren I assume. I like the method of using the red light, then dome lights, then siren. otherwise, I don't think i'll be stopping. glad they are safe.

Seriously...and if they don't have the dome lights on top (like all the unmarked cars) then there is just the red light in the windshield to pull you over with. Just keep a look out and ask to see a badge or something first....that is probably all that you can do.

Unfortunately, CHP and Police cars with no lightbars only have the red light up in front windshield.

if you dont pull over... wont you be considered as running away.. and get charged for evading?

 

If you're skeptical in anyway you can drive to the nearest CHP,Sheriff or police station.That's if you know exactly drive straight there or otherwise it would be evading.But you would have to have reasonble doubt that they were not police officers.
