Default no CE, no VTEC HELP!!!

2001 LS with 97R swap, p73 ecu.

i have no check engine light on...

i just got done rebuilding my 1997 spec R motor.

first got it started, warmed up, ran it vtec ENGAGE a couple of times and i notice my speedo was not moving...

Then i went for a 2nd test drive, no vtec, and speedo not working, everything else works good, rpm, gas, temp...

CE came on, i change to new VSS, CE is off still no vtec...speedo still not working, wasted $$$..

car feels weak, like its in safe mode, when its really warmed up... i have to give it more gas then normal for it to accelerate. idles is fine!

I NEED HELP BAD! i dont want it to lead to another spun bearing or rod knock, like my previous R block...

ANYONE PLEASE!!!!!

I had this issue on my ITR. IF the VSS is not registering to the ECU (Possibly bad wiring) then it will enter into a LIMP mode. Vtec will not engage and it will kind of bog out. If you have an OBD1 ecu with a conversion harness plug that in and see if it runs fine... But chances are you need 2 fix whatever's causing the speedO issue. That will resolve your problem.

Vtec fix!! 2000fbpitr your in the zone. I fix the problem but car still don't feel as strong.. The wire on the harness was bad I rigg it by using another wire to connect to the vss. Speedo works. Vtec is okay, lol best feeling ever!!! So I wasted money on a new vss, almost on a cluster... Phew thanks 2000fbpitr
