bad vss?
hey h-t. well I have a 97 Honda accord se with the f22b2 motor mated to an auto trans. recently traded a fellow my ej7 for this and its not too bad.. a couple minor issues, this being one of them.
anyway, I start the car and the needle sits around 20 mph. sometimes while im moving the needle will bounce just a little bit while remaining around 20 mph. sometimes it'll work. its intermittent.
I went as far as having the car running and unplugging the sensor without any change, still stayed on 20 mph. checked the connector and seems fine with almost zero corrosion. i also put in a known good sensor to no avail.
now, before I start chasing down wires , I was wondering if anyone has had a problem like this and might be able to point me in the right direction.
all help will be much appreciated!

anyway SOLUTION.. to my particular problem and im sure many others. a member here by the name TOOLMAN hit the nail right on the head for me. ic1 pin 10 on the speedo circuit board. removed the hardened plastic material to find a cracked joint right at that very pin location, ic1 pin 10. resoldered and haven't had a problem since. i took it for a few drives now and so far its batting 100.
