2001 civic hx transmission fluid?

I want to do a drain and fill on my 2001 hx automatic. In my manual it says to use dw-1 ATF but honda sells cvt fluid. Would it be ok to use the cvt fluid? Why would it say to use dw-1 if I have a cvt. thanks!

If you have a CVT, you should be using the CVT fluid.

That's what I bought but I was worried because my manual said to use dw1. Don't want to cause transmission failure. Thank you
