95 honda civic temperature sending unit

Default 95 honda civic temperature sending unit

Hello guys, i have a 95 civic, the temperature gauge doesn't work, i want to test the temperature sending unit, but i can not unplug it and i saw the sensor is inside the engine, anyone knows how to replace the sensor? Do i need to open the engine to replace it? thanks

You should be able to just unscrew it, it should be 12mm. Coolant will leak out so be ready for that, its not a lot but if enough leaks out you will probably have to bleed the system.

Thanks, but the screw is not 12mm, it's very tiny and it seems like coming out from inside engine.
