Default 92 Honda civic Radiator Fan problems

Ever since I bought the car a year ago I've been jumping my radiator fan to turn on when I turn the ignition on w/ a paperclip.
Finally got to it, and I ordered a new thermostat fan switch. http://www.ebay.com/itm/281135267748...84.m1497.l2648

Came in today and I switched the old one out with this one.
The temp needle went above halfway after 15min of waiting.
No luck fan did not turn on.

But when I put the paperclip on the thermostat switch plug. the fan works fine and I don't have any overheating.

Where do I go from here?

Just wait, the fan will come on. It takes mine until it is almost all the way to the top before it comes on.
