Default 2009 Ridgeline TPMS

I'm looking for info on how the TPMS works on ridgeline. I live in eastern Canada so am going to put snow tires on my truck, which means swapping tires 2 a year.

If i put steel rims with no TPMS, I will get a warning light turned on, but will everything else work as expected? I've read on some forums that the 4wd won't engage.

If i put a second set of TPMS on the steel rims and sync those to the truck, will i then have to re-sync the alloy rim tpms come spring? (another trip to the dealer and $120 to sync them)

thanks for any input.

Your 4WD should work with or with out the TPMS. TPMS is to just measure tire pressure and warn you incase you get a flat or too low in pressure. Other model Ridgelines don't even come with TPMS but every single Ridgeline comes with 4WD. You will have the TPMS lights on if you removed it. That's it. What year Ridgeline do you have. I know the older TPMS will not work with the newer Ridgelines and etc. I hope this helps.

Found the info on the ridgeline owners forum after posting there and here. Wiht no TPMS, you can't turn off VSA, but none of it has any effect on the 4wd system.

Also according to the ROC members the 2009 ridgeline should auto-pair tpms sensors, so no -reprogramming necessary.
