Different kind of build thread, 300k or bust
I've always wanted to see how far I could run a Honda until it died, I've saw plenty other Hondas go to over 300k so that's what I'm shooting for, I have this car for a daily driver work vehicle, so it may get worked a little harder then normal, and I plan to modify accordingly
I started with a '99 Civic DX coupe, it had quite a bit of body damage, 190k, and a blown motor

i paid $400 for the civic, the plan was to fix it but instead I then traded for a running, auto, '97 accord LX with 124k on the clock and a pretty bad miss

A set of plugs and wires and that miss was cleared right up, I put 9500 miles on the car in less than 2 months, without a hiccup or problem
I figured after that many miles in such a short amount of time it needed a little love I then replaced
Valve cover gasket
Dizzy gasket
Both upper balljoints
Front and back brakes
Inner and outer tie rods
And added a radio and CB for the long trips

The plan is
Adjust the valves
New cap and rotor
Timing belt oil/water pump
Roof rack
Better CB antenna
Rear springs from a wagon
Add a trailer hitch for my cargo rack
General maintenance to keep her going
Fix the A/C
Single stage paint
I want to keep this as a reliable travel/daily/work vehicle as I do have some other projects that I haven't made a build thread for

My 88 Chrysler conquest and my 86 CRX DX, ill also have a ls/vtec 88 CRX hf, and a 90 std model hatch (still deciding on what swap to go with) ill try to get pictures of both of those
I managed to get 330k out of my old EF with a D15B1. Near the end the blow-by and leaky valve guides really started to make oil consumption a problem. It's definitely possible to break 300k, just be prepared to carry some extra oil for long trips.
I had 2 EFs just shy of 300k, I don't care what anybody says, the D15/D16s they came with were great motors, they may not be fast but they're damn near bulletproof
I'm not saying its hard, but I have never kept a car long enough to put more than 15-20k on it I've only ever had to renew my registration 1 time, and I have about 144,000 miles to go till it hits 300,000, on a $400 car

I did end up rear ending a lady, it set the air bags off but really didn't do much damage to the outside, it pushed the rad support in a little and broke the mount for the driver side turn signal, the passenger was already broke

I replaced the windshield, the bumper support, grabbed a badgeless grill from the junkyard and also got a set of turn signals from the yard, witch were nearly impossible to find, I got these by waiting till they brought a new accord into the yard and jumped on it as soon as they set it down

You can hardly tell it was hit
