Default EM1 engine installation tranny mounted

hi guys, This client went to our shop with this clean em1 without engine but
with tranny and axles installed. My boss ask me and I tell him that is more easy remove the tranny, mate it to the new ls vtec and mount it as a piece.
But the guy don't want to pay the extra cash. I do that on my crx with d16z6
very careful to not mess up the pressure plate forks, but in b series it's possible?

I was locking and I think if I remove the shift linkage and raise the tranny and remove the engine damper it can be done.

Any advice will be appreciate.

so the tranny is just hanging on by the tranny mount ? or is the T Bracket in too ?. don't think it's be easy to maneuver it in with the tranny bolted up already.

why you charge him more if its easier for you to take tranny out?

and if he don't want to pay maybe he can do it himself perhaps?

No the tranny is only held by the mount and a click strap (I don't know how to say it in English) the belts that you use to secure the cars to the dyno.

I'm not the owner, but I think we go that route remove tranny for the same price and avoid hassles.

I'm guessing you're a automotive technician ? so on the flat rate system...you'll run into more trouble with it in then out.

Your best bet is to remove the transmission.
Getting the input shaft inserted properly with the pressure plate, clutch and flywheel with the transmission still in the car is going to a pain in the ****.

Yes, I'm Auto. Technic, but we here in P.R. most of the shops quote for the entire labor not by hour rate. So why it's so important have clear the things before give a global price.

Better safe than sorry!!!

he's asking the best way to drop in a motor with the tranny in the car.

it's Way faster to pull the tranny and the put it in as a complete setup then to try and fight it with the tranny already in the car.

if it's bid as a JOB and Not a Per Hour then just pull the tranny and do it.

and the term for the click strap is ratchet strap

How could it be that much extra to take one mount off and put the transmission on outside the car? I don't see the issue here. You may SAVE yourself time doing it that way instead of trying to line it up in the car.
