Default valve train question

im gonna be only at the 450hp tops and not reving past 8000 with gsr cams.im thinking of using ST valvetrain. i know ferrea is what everyone is leaning towards but seems like there all in the like 700+ rang and reving past 9500 rang as well. thoughts??

Why not just stick with oem valve spring and retainers if ur gonna stay with stock cams and rev limit?

Even at stock red line the demand for valve spring increases with boost & exhaust pressure. You'd be fine with simply the dual valve springs. You honestly dont need the rest of the kit for your goals.

I agree.. the valvetrain is fine enough. No need for all the rest.

Just get the ST valve springs and keep ur OEM Retainers and locks... Tit retainers are a wear item and I have seen a few split in 1/2 no matter what brand it is.

Ti are fine when installed properly. I'm still on the same set 10 years later. No cracks and no splits. 200K on the clock, and has past through 3 family members.

then compromise with the 02 rsx retainers, they are new and cheap.

i use the 85lb supertech springs with ti retainers they hold up well. ive had it up to 9400 rpm or so when i hit the limiter a few times coming out of 1st and 2nd gear
