Default Clutch Slave Cylinder Alternatives?

2000 Accord, F23 engine with F23 transmission.

I'm running a heavy pressure plate which puts a high load on the clutch hydraulic system. After driving the car into town for a short while, the system doesn't fully disengage the clutch any more, making it difficult to get into and out of gears. It gets worse the longer I drive, but returns to working just fine after the car sits for a few hours and cools.

Is there a more robust alternative available; maybe a retrofit from another vehicle, or aftermarket cylinder? I might consider something with slight modifications or converting to a pull-type system if it helps.

Didn't we already cover this?

Did we? My current option is to replace the rubber section of the line with a braided steel hose, and order new OEM master/slave. But I've run heavy clutches in the past and swapping these just seems to be an expensive band-aid.

I guess I'm not convinced it's an issue that replacing the line is going to completely resolve. I friend of mine is putting together an F2D setup which allowed him to switch to a pull-type setup with the slave cylinder, and that has me curious...

I would still try a 100% stainless steel hose. Mine has worked very well, not to mention the guys at B&R are absolutely awesome.

I might call them when they open tomorrow and see if they can put together a complete setup that will allow me to cut out the rubber section and install a braided line.

Any idea what the ID/OD of the stock hard line is for reference?

it's 3/16" OD on the civic. I can't remember if the accord uses a bigger hard line... we sold ours so i can't go check . if it looks the same as the brake hard lines i would suggest it's 1/4" OD.

do you think it needs some added heat sheilding from the turbo/manifold? you could also try swapping the fluid for something more race-y and heat resistant, like DOT-4.

I believe he is already running a racey fluid like DOT4.

I think there may still be the 'old' fluid in there from the last time I swapped cylinders. I had considered heat, but all the components are pretty far from any heat sources. The symptom definitely gets worse when I'm using the clutch often, but I can drive on the highways/backroads for hours and never have a problem because I'm not using the clutch much.

trying to bleed clutch after auto to man swap (2000 Accord). fluid leaking at bottom of slave cyl (see pic)... is slave broken, or does this need to be tightened somehow?
