I have a 1996 Honda Civic and i want to paint the trunk black,like the image below(i know its a carbon fiber hood),i was just wondering how many cans do you think of primer and paint will it take to do the whole top trunk, i'm only painting the top not the underside.

cans? do it out of a spray gun. will be way nicer. 1 pint of black should do it.

 

Dont forget poly primer, but about a quart of each... I would get two quarts of clear as I dont think you have ever painted before.

 

by cans i mean spray paint, i did it with 2 primer cans and 3 paint.thanks tho no clear cause i wanted matte

Not really.. Spray paint will fail because of UV rays... It may work for a few months to a year then be ready to paint it again. Oh clear coat is what gives you ur UV protection... Im not talking spray paint clear but automotive clear.

 

Well, I painted my car with 2 quarts of paint. Did 3 coats. That was with the color at least. Don't buy the garbage at the auto store. It's so diluted. Worthless in my opinion. And way to pricy.

 

In this matter tho, even the stuff at the autostores would of been better then spray paint. All tho, the stuff napa sells is ok, its made by name brand, not the dupont stuff you get in the pints but the stuff behind the counter.
