Default b18b N/A

Hello this my 1st time startin a forum just lookin for any good advice I'm tryin to build up my civic dx I'm not lookin for bugatti speed its a dd. Anybody know any good cams for a 96 b18b. Yea I know its not the best motor and its automatic lol i just need somethin with more pull. I'm new to this so I'm piecin things I've read together. I saw that a crower has 402 cams that you don't have to change the valvetrain for. Has anyone tried these out. I'm gonna be strippin the motor down honin the cylinders new pistons basically new internals. I just don't want to tweak the ecu. I know automatic is already a curse and hated by many (manually challenged). I know the swap is gonna be a quick trip to he** and back but I'm gonna do it. I just need help altogether I know I need the axles motor mount do I need to cut into the bay for the tranny to fit. Has anyone actually done the auto swap with pictures and not folklore. Sorry for the long post just a computer nerd tryin to learn hondas.

If its going to stay auto just leave the engine stock internally

I have this swap in a 94 civic and am currently helping DJBLUEB20 with his swap into a iirc 96 civic
-Also you don't need to cut the frame in the bay, just heat it up and give it some taps with a hammer till you have enough room
- get axles from an automatic integra 94-01
- and get a rywire AUTOMATIC ecu jumper, cuz the integra engine and trans have separate ECU's unlike the civic where's its all one piece

slowDB7 thanks for the info. I read somewhere that you had to get the midshaft also. If you and DJBLUEB20 have the time could you post pics I'm new to this and wouldn't mind keepin up with the progress on the swap. Its good to know not everyone strays from automatics.

Yes you will need the midshaft from an automatic 94-0 midshaft, and I'll try getting some of mine (they won't be pretty, my bays covered in crap) and I'll let him know to put up some pics.

Also another thing I forgot before, you have to reuse the lower torque mounts because you have to remove the auto transmission mount completely unless you want to custom fab a mount

i used the civic one, only problem i had was the upper rad hose was a little too big for the radiator so it kept leaking

simple solution is to get the upper rad hose for a 99-00 civic si

you can keep the a/c, i just took mine out because it wasnt working at the time

if you want to keep it then use all the a/c components from your eg except the bracket that holds the a/c compressor to the engine, youll need to use a a/c bracket from a Del Sol Vtec (b16) or a CRV

i was pretty happy with it especially seeing as how i only had to send about $300 for everything including fluid, but i miss driving 5 speed

and as far as difference, yeah i could feel as difference but its still an automatic so i wasnt expecting any super crazy change in the feel

and your not pestering lol, i didnt have anyone to answer my questions for this swap when i did it, so i like to help others with it
