build it with aftermarket pistons and rods with a compression goal of around 10.5:1 and it will be a fun all motor build, then when you boost it you can through a decent sized turbo on it with some e85 or water/meth and have out of boost power + intense boostage

Thanks for the advice, I found eagle rods and JE pistons with a comp ratio of 11:1 in a gsr I'm not sure what that would yield in my motor but was thinking of picking up the rods and using RS machine pistons. The rods and pistons I found I can get for $450 shipped looks like a good deal.

Appreciate it man, I got lucky because I live about 5 min from the beach and the car has almost zero rust. I'm also trying to stock parts since my sohc is still running pretty good so it gives me some time to gather everything I need and actually spend the money on good quality parts.

Thank you man. I can't wait until it's running. (LS/VTEC)

I really want the motor in as soon as possible so I was thinking of keeping the stock rods and using P30 pistons. Going to do some research, I just want the motor in and running lol

I'm going boost, I've decided to change my mind since I have everything apart already and still have a running motor in my daily.

Default Update 10/25/13

Decided to go a different route with the build. Manged to grab a deal on wheels and tires to throw on temp while I work on the motor.

I bought 81.5mm Mahle 9:1 PowerPak forged pistons, I'm buying eagle rods and sending the block off to get pressure cleaned and bore & hone.

I'm setting the car up for boost now, goal of 400whp for now. I'm going to start piecing together my turbo kit, and fuel setup as well. So many choices on turbo manifolds. I want a nice one & I'm willing to spend money on a custom manifold.

Should I keep my head the way it is? 99 ctr head with gsr cams..
