I just bought a 1994 Honda Accord EX with a 2.2 4cyl manual Transmission with the Head Gasket blown. I replaced the Head gasket and was looking for the cause of the initial overheating issue. I changed the thermostat flushed the radiator. I am at a stand still. When the vehicle idles after running for awhile the temperature guage slowly rises but when it get above half the fan kicks on and brings it back down. Is there still an issue with it over heating, or should it be fine?

It sounds fine, but check the water pump for leaks. F22B1s are bad about water pumps going out.
