Default B17 Cams?

B16 Head
-Supertech Springs and Retainers
-Stock cams/Aftermarket gears
-R/C 750cc injectors
B18A1 Block
-Completely stock
Edelbrock Performer X Intake Manifold
65MM Pro. Products TB (TB and IM are port matched)
Stock Map Sensor
2.5" Piping
Garrett gt28r .60 a/r turbo on 7psi
3 inch open downpip
CUstom Mini Ram turbo manifold
p28 Ecu chipped on chrome
Redline= 7200

But ok so I picked up a set of cams. According to the FF squad id site, they seem to be b17 92-93 cams. Now, are these the same as GSR Cams? And are they even an upgrade from my b16 cams? I will attach pics.

i thought they were the same cams from the sirII b16 that made 170 instead of 160hp. grab a dial caliper and measure them out i know the specs for the oem cams are out on the web

when I bought my b16a head stamped 9/0 she comes with P61 Intake manifold and cams (the same showed above, GSR 92-93) they are the same as second generation b16 cams not GSR. When I switch to 98 GSR cams the engine feels completely different. I don't find my old graphic but I gain twenty something horses just with tune without cam degree.

So it'd be pointless to throw these in?

this is up to you!! But if you are building your engine and tuning it, I'd put a better cam from the start.

In the b16turbo thread there are some people making good power with them.

if you have the 2nd gen. already isn't worth it. Always you can find some GSR's for cheap I don't know in the states but here you can find a set for $50- 60 bucks.

Your running a gt28 on 7psi. Those cams will work perfect for what your doing. If you need a little bit more power just turn the boost up.

Well now I was told that these cams came out of a 95 OBD1 GSR. I have also seen many threads online of these same exact cams sworn to come out of integras past 1994, so really what cams are these?!?

It was a 93 GS-R that used the B17 camshafts. If it were a 1995, it would be a standard GS-R camshaft as ALL the other GS-Rs.

If you checked FF-Squad already, and its a match, you'll know. otherwise, have to get them measured.

measure the cam lift... that will tell us basically what they are

take a set of calipers, measure the base circle (circular part) then measure the lobe, subtract the base circle from it and there's the cam lift

GSR cams are the way to go on a budget, basically ITR's with less duration.

I just opened up a bone stock never opened 98 gsr motor. The car I pulled the swap from was STOCK and nothing was modified. The head stamp is 98 and all vins match. The cams are exactly the same as what you have with the 3 rings. All the gsr cams I have seen look like that.

See that's what I'm saying. I've contacted multiple people selling 94+ gsr cams who swear they came out of stock motors. They send me a picture and it looks identical to mine. I don't get it. Is that site wrong?
