EM1 CMC upgrade - Engagement Point?
I had a shop do my em1 cmc, and had to take it back because they didn't use the em1 retainer (which was a quick 20 min fix). They also didn't do the correct adjusting so I did it myself. It consisted of:
1. Backing out the clutch switch/bump stop until the pedal was all the way in the released position so there was no pressure on the cmc
2. spun the rod clockwise until the slave was unable to be moved, then backed it out little by little until the slave was able to be pushed in by hand. Everything was tightened down after I was finished.
The question: is the engagement point supposed to be that high? It grabs in 1st gear about 80-85% of the way up. It seems very excessive to grab that high. I put the parking brake up and shifted in to 1st, and slowly let off the clutch and at about 95% of the way up the car stalled so its grabbing fine at that point (I believe).
Is this normal? Is the engagement supposed to be that high, or am I missing something?
Is there a way to lower the engagement point, or it is what it is?
