Default Took the R to the local AutoX

Went to the track this Sunday 09/22/2013 with a few buddies here in Houston, TX. Had a lot of fun out there.
Track layout was great, and overall I think I did good for there being around 20 cars in my class. And really not fair classes, because its a BMWCCA event. At this event they put all four cylinder cars in the same class.

Looking to see if I can improve any, so please don't hold back...

Currently running on koni yellow's w/ a new set of OEM ITR springs from Acura. I was running a very aggressive alignment for the event. Front tires are 225/45 Hankook RS-3 and the rears were Dunlop Star Specs 205/50.

Anywho, enjoy the videos. Watch in 1080p for best quality.

The last 10 secs are my fav part.

Here's a shot of the R when I had the coilovers on:

I'm curious of your thoughts on running staggered tire sizes but also different sets of tires with diff characteristics too, did you find the rear end came around better?

Curious as to way you went back to the stock springs over the coilovers? I do remember buying your previous set of ITR springs off of you earlier in the year. Damn that looks like a fun course and quite long too

The rear does come does come around really easy with the tire setup, but it may also be because of my agrressve alignment.

But yes, running the staggered setup was to help get the back end to swing around easier.

I sold my truck, and with me doing that, I am daily driving the R again. And with 500/500 lb in springs on the coilovers, daily driving the R was not fun. So I was forced to buy OEM springs again. I do regret selling that set to you, and I will not do that again.

Price went up at Acura for stock OEM springs.

The most common set up in the heyday of Autocrossing ITR's was the 225 front/205 rear setup. You rub if you're hard over, but it puts a lot more traction where you need it.

That said, if I were to go back to doing it, I would consider 205's in the front for possible unsprung weight reduction. It's still a little debate I have with myself from time to time.

(Sorry for the slight necro).

I think they went up because Acura had to do another run of them. Early last spring I thought I bought the last set of new OEM ITR springs in the country. I had to source from 3 different dealers to get a complete set as there were no more in the pipeline.

If they are available again, either they brought them over from Japan or made more new ones. I haven't checked, but are the part numbers still the same or has anything been superseded?

Sounds good on paper but the faster cornering speed of the 225 more than makes up for any "acceleration" that the 205 will have over the 225.

This is with R-comps, mind you.

To my knowledge part numbers have not changed. I bought both sets from delray Acura.
