Okay, I'm really new to the Acura scene. I did a search, but I could not find any post that could specifically answer these questions relative to GS-Rs.

I'm reffering to the last generation of Integra in the US, is that 3rd gen? I think it was made from 94 - 01. I know there were several small changes during this time period. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think they were all styling changes (with the exception of a changeover to OBDII). What year did the styling changes take place on the GSR Coupe, what were they? I know the headlights/tail lights changed, right? Anybody have pictures comparing the different variations? Also, there isn't going to be any performance difference between the gsr coupes of the same generation, right? Same engine specs, same suspension (or did sus. get softer, better, whatever). Thank you for your help, and again, I tried to search but could not find any answers to these q's. Thanks a lot!

 

Yes its the 3rd gen. 94-97 had same lights and bumpers. 98+ had different. There were also changes in the exhaust manifold and cat length I believe. The newer gsr also only came in leather.

Okay, are the 98+ GS-Rs better performers? When did OBDII start? 98?

 

obd-2 started in 96, people say the obd1s are faster but i dont think so. cosmetic diffrences are the 98+ came with diffrent headlights cornerlights frontbumper and rear bumper. also the rims where diffrent for 95,96,97 but 98+ were all the swerlies. goodluck

 

what year gsr are u looking for? i have an 2001 black/black leather with JDM front end for sale. 22000 miles. 19,000 firm. I live 10 mins from wayne.

 

it mostly just apperance. 94-97 tegs come with the words acura written on the steering wheel cover. While the 98's and up come with the logo. 94-97 tegs have a latch inside the car for the trunk release, while with 98's and up all you have to do is hit the door lock and then open you trunk. The Gsr rims change 94-97 has the 5 spoke, while 98's and up have the swirlees. 94-97 have the back tail lights with the amber turning signal, while 98's and up have the all red tail lenses. 98's and up came with leather the other year didn't. 94-97 has ODB1, while 98's and up use ODB2.94-97 don't spray the windshield wiper soultion on the rear windshield, the 98's and up do. 98's and up come with the additional tweeter speaker in the door panels, 94-97's don't. As far as Engine , Tranny, and Suspension are concerned they are all the same.

 

Also Most people will argue, but i think 95 was the year they made the best GSR motors.

 

Nighthawk, seems like a good price, especially with the JDM FEC. I'm looking to spend a little less than 19k though, and I want to have some left over for mods/repirs/rainy day, you know? I'll consider it if I happen upon some cash before you sell it.

In response to the last post, I haven't heard that - but Edmunds says 1995 is the lightest year of GS-R Coupes. Thanks for the help guys. Any other info would be appreciated (although I think its all been answered now!)

i got a 95 4door gsr with leather, but u dont see many!

 

98-01 integras have different mirrors too

 

what mine must have been special then...94 with tweeters..but then again I bout mine new with them on and so did 5 of my friends...it must have been 6 special 95 GSR's

 

my 96 has tweeters in the door panels

 

no they dont. The only difference's from 94-97 to 98-2001 are

1. 98+ have slightly different headlights and bumper
2. 98+ have all red tail lights
3. The "acura" logo on the steering wheel is replaced by
4. 98+ have different rear bumper
5. 2001 use differnt leather and different floor mats
6. ObdI to OBD II
7. Bigger diameter exhaust piping (dont quote me on this)
8. 98+ saw blade rims
9. i think 2000 started the "chip in key" bullshit

 

96+ have a line on the mirrors.

 

i'm a newb so sorry for the dumb question but what's OBDI and OBDII. i've been seeing lots of references to them on this board.

94-95 have a factory oil cooler.

 

hey how come u guys left out the 92-93 gsr's, they were the first gsr's and still run very strong. i got a 92 gsr with leather, cd player, pretty good suspension, great handeling, original paint that looks better than a 2001 gsr, (red)..sunroof, and more **** that i cant remember right now lol

 

they look more aero dynamic with the line in the mirror on newer g3s

 

one more difference would be the adjustable ***** on the front seats

 

yeah you guys are right i was thinking about the ls on that one. 94-97 ls's' don't have the tweeter.

 

Didn't the 98 come with a smaller ABS unit. Also some 98 GS-R don't have leather like myself.
