90 4 Dr NO START , B16 Just installed!
Ok guys need alittle quick help or ideas.
We got a 90 Civic 4Dr auto. Have converted the car to manual properly and have installed the B16 but have no spark. Fuel pump is running and everything checked good electrically in fuel system. Have performed all tested straight from the Helms bible and all sensors, coil and igniter unit check good but still no spark. Have verified all wiring with my own B16 swap in my car and all wires are correct. Also timing belt is good and dead on. Plugs and wires good but still no spark. Any other ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Andy

Ok plugs are all new and good. Performed all diagnosis from helms manual for dist. operation and all sensors tested good along with known good igniter and coil installed to verify. Still no spark! Any other ideas?

Check the grounding on the car. Make sure dizzy wiring is correct. I checked mine three times before I realized that I had the plug pinned wrong.
Good Luck man. Wiring stuff can be a real pain sometimes.

i went through everything just like you did on my swap, ended up being that i was getting spark just it was so weak it wouldn't ignite ****...and also you couldn't see it in the day. Anyways i just said $#@! it and paid $200 for a Honda Technician to check it out and fix it, found out it was my coil all along.
Check those grounds. Thats the same problem i had with my ZC. No spark. Looked and sure as hell enuff one of my grounds was just sittin there. I thought i pulled it 3 times to make sure it wasnt and it was just there...Good luck man!
Yeh, dude i had the same problem on my first B16 swap. I had fuel, but no spark. It turned out that one little ground wire was hiding tucked up underneath the intake manifold. It caused a one week setback. I know that everyone else has been sayin this- but check your grounds....and then check them again. One little wire can cause the thing not to start.
Thanks guys for the ideas. I actually first thing checked all the grounds due a problem I had with my ZC swap back in the day and all grounds at thermostat housing, tranny and valve cover to fram are good to go. Now Im planning to try putting this dist. on my B16 next to see if it works. If it does I will be totally lost. If it doesn't that means bad dist. and hopefully a cure. Im also going to put a noid light in the injector just to make sure Im getting injector pulse for peace of mind. Thanks again everyone for the ideas and I'll keep ya informed on what is found.
Thanks,
Andy

Just one little question.. When you turn the key to START, what happens??.. Does it go CLICK or nothing?... If it goes click I would check your battery. Because you might not have a fully charged battery which wouldn't provide enough amperage to crank the engine over...
