Default Honda Oil Cooler

I plan to install a factory oil cooler from a 96 Odyssey on my F22B1. The only problem I have run into is how to get the old threaded fitting out of my block. What comes to mind first is to use a pipe wrench to unscrew it but that would tear up the fitting and I would just as soon not do that. And this is not something that is covered in the shop manual. So I was wondering if anyone had any experience in removing these fittings. The factory cooler seems like it is well designed and a clean installation if it works well enough.

I'm assuming your talking about the oil spindle and if so it should be a 10 or 12 millimeter Allen wrench that takes it off now I'm pretty sure not 100% use a flash light to see the opening and go from there hope that helps

I pulled one yesterday from an old motor. It is just a pipe fitting with different size thread on each end. I used a pipe wrench with didn't hurt the threads all that badly, but I suspect that if I wrap a piece of leather around them it will work that way too. What I need is a threaded fitting that I could screw on and then tighten against the threads, but that would be way too much work to make.
