vtec solenoid question
Yeah there's a way.. According to the wiring diagram to for a GSR.. All the solenoid does is ground the GRN/YEL wire for a 94 to 97 and ground the GRN/WHT for a 98 to 01 GSR.. So what I would do is indirectly test the solenoid by grounding the wire going into the solenoid.. And if it VTEC engages when you rev up to it, you've got a faulty solenoid or corrodded ground. Next you'll have to check the ground that the solenoid uses and make sure that it isn't dirty.. Hope that helps..

the clicking 12 volt thing is good, but you can also hook up a Multimeter on it to see if the coil is in good shape, since they don't got the same impedance , find a solenoid of the same model that work, check the impedance, then get back to yours and see if it's the same, don't wories if it change of less than 1 homs, your's is fuct up if it change more than 3 or 4 homs.
