tps throwing cel on hard acceleration
So long story shortened a bit, I swapped a different head on my motor and when I had the IM off my wife accidentally dropped it, and the casting broke where the throttle cable bracket bolts onto the throttle body. I have a s2 IM so I just went out and bought a type r cable and bracket and installed that and its been driving flawlessly...minus one thing. Only problem is when I really lay into it, red lining each gear, the CEL comes on and stays on until I shut the car off and start it back up. Every time I do that it goes away and I even had to pull over and jump the harness with car running to check the code. Its code 7(Throttle Position Sensor) If I just accelerate hard for a couple of seconds and then let off it doesn't come on, only when red lining. Now the only drivability issue that results from the CEL is when I come to a stop my idle is high, like 1.5-2k rpms. I've tried to research and alls I can come up with is people having hesitation and bogging issues resulting from this code. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any and all help
I'm thinking the sensor has a short in it, and while accelerating, the sensor reaches the short, cel comes on, and the sensor keeps rotating which keeps the car going.
Replace the tps sensor.
Replace the tps sensor.
