Default 2013 Honda Accord - Hazy Paint

We brought our new car home about 4 months ago and were beyond thrilled with it. It is this beautiful pearl blue color.
So this beautiful, glossy color lasted about 3 months and now we're starting to notice this sort of 'haze' (as my wife describes it).
It's just this dull hazy layer. Not swirls or brush stroke-looking things, just a layer of film.
So we just took it to the Honda dealership to have it washed, thinking it was just some dust or construction haziness that got picked up where we work.
Still the haze lives.
We asked several of the Honda tech and two different managers and most of them agreed that it was some kind of enviromental fallout.
So I asked around on some auto paint forum and got the suggestion to try a 'clay bar' from Meguiars. So we tried that. The haze looked a tiny bit less hazy but still it remained.
But now I have a new suspicion. My youngest daughter is using our garage for a painting studio. She doesn't paint anywhere near the new car but recently I noticed several spray paint cans in the corner that hadn't been there before. Some are regular spray paint but others are acrylic paint sealers that I'm pretty sure she's using to seal her paintings.
She's away for 2 weeks on a camping trip so I can't ask her if she got too close to the car while spraying the paintings. But it seems like more of a possibility that she sprayed this sealing spray in our garage with the doors closed and that somehow it 'floated' around and fell on our car.
If it is this spray paint sealer, what can I use to remove it safely that won't harm the paint, yet will take it off the painted body, headlights, and windows?

Images: (all taken out on our driveway in the sun because the haze is more noticable then inside the garage)

First is the back bumper which appears to be the only part that remains 'un-hazed':

Second is the front hood which hopefully you can see the layer of haziness on:

Can anyone help?

Sounds like it can be overspray. The clay bar should have easily taken care of it. If you still have it after that, you need to buff it or get it professionally buffed.

Here's a quick video on buffing: http://www.learnautobodyandpaint.com...r-car-buffing/

Enjoy!

So you picked up the car and you were very pleased with it, then over time it became hazy? It sounds like one of two things. Dealerships will do whatever they can to move a car out the door. So they have to make the car look pretty.
In some cases the cars look great because they wax them before you come and look at the car. Then over time the wax wears off and your left with a not so pretty dull paint job.
Another possibility could be the that the dealership bought the car with previous damage then had a "lot lizard" tech come in and do paint work on it. Dealerships try to save money on their bottom line so they hire "lot lizards" to do they body work for a fraction of the price. Some of these techs do great work, but I've seen many other that hack the work together. Many don't allow for proper dry times between coats and this can cause problems. The cars look great when they are done, but over time the solvents that are trapped between coats start to come out. This causes the clear shine to haze or "dry back".
So either way your solution is going to be to buff the car. Hopefully if a lot tech got ahold of your car then they put enough coats of clear on to buff with out burning through. Good luck!

Assuming you bought your car new (but if you bought it used, it could be a defect from a previous owner having it resprayed)

it does sound like overspray to me as well. You should use a clay bar again, rubbing gently untill smooth... may take a few passes, multiple times... afterwards try a cleaner wax. its an all in one type of wax that cleans, polishes and waxes at the same time. more for your everyday users and those that dont have a buffer.

IMO: if your hazing looks like its a surface defect then try claybarring again, and polish. If it looks like its in the actual clearcoat, it could be cleacoat failure and possibly fall under Honda's recall.

i have heard honda had a recall on some of their dark colored cars... Civics and accords from 2003-2007... although your car is a 2013, i'd call or take it to the dealership and have them check your vin# and recall list, to see if your car falls under the recall. Ive seen many accords and civics in black or dark blue, that already have faded and peeling clearcoats. and my neighbor has a civic that he got resprayed under the recall.

from what i found these colors are on the recall: Nighthawk Black Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl, and Fiji Blue Pearl Blue
