Wants to stall at idle?
I recently had my alternator repaired. Shortly after installing, my car died while idling at a traffic light and the main relay started clicking rapidly (what I think is the main relay from under the dash). I replaced the battery and it started right up. It's been starting and running as it should. When it idles and I just tap the throttle with my foot to 800-900rpm, it idles back down even lower and the interior lights dim. If i put the window up or down at idle the interior lights dim enough to notice significantly.
I am no mechanic, but I think as though there is an issue with a battery connection somewhere. I inspected all the obvious. I've read that the car operates more off the battery at idle than it does off the alternator, hence why the lights don't dim if I operate the windows while driving.. SO the issue must lye somewhere between the alternator and the battery?

I have the same issue. Every once and a while it dips down low and nearly stalls. Try cleaning your air idle control valve. As for me I haven't bothered.
Make sure all your grounds are secured. Tranny ground, motor ground, and starter ground. From there, make sure you don't have a faulty wire either at your alt harness or your batter terminal harness.
Grounds would be where I check first though.

I feel it is running as if there is a ground disconnected somewhere. I can think of one ground wire that isn't connected to anything around the starter area. I cannot find where it plugs in to. Stock motor and harness so it must go to something. The wire is only about four inches long and it is the type of ground that the starter has, but is not the starter ground. I will take a pic of it and post it on here and maybe you or someone can identify it for me. Thanks
