Here´s a pic of the old cams, 98 ITR spec.

My ITR on the dyno, the dyno machine is very diferente from the US dyno, this is a VAMAG machine:

Take a look of my mechanic shop. Nice Hummmm ??!?! Porche´s, Lotus...

Why did you buy the spoon cams? They are too mild for the money IMO.

I like milder cams, don't need to upgrade the valve train.

future toda A, Jun 2 or spoon cam owner.

useless in a street car, I'd agree. but I think peace of mind for hard running and track days makes it justifiable. of course, just MHO

very nice.

I might have to argue with that about the oil cooler. when you drive 20-30mins at 6+ thousand rpms seems it might offer some benefit

During my street runs the oil is always above 210 Fş, of course if i run a bit harder, easly the oil temp. goes over 260-270 Fş. ( 135şC)

And that´s not on track, i saw a ITR on track with the max temp on the gauge 318 Fş after 15 minutes on track. After that he got a oil cooler with 16 rows, but it lowered the oil temps to much. He said he prefers to run with a 9 row cooler in winter and 12 row cooler in the summer.

Has for the cams, i like them, i´m not using cam gears yet, that´s why i´m not getting the max power.
I prefer running close to stock secundary lobes, it gives me security with my milled head.
Don´t have yet good dyno numbers cause i didn´t tuned perfectly the new injectors.

pinota, how do you plan on tuning the bigger injectors? V-AFC or moded ECU?

Edit: BTW, nice setup!

I payed about $540usd for both Spoon cams. Not bad, they were used for 600 miles. I sold my 98 ITR cams for $450 usd, so they only coast me $90 bucks.

[QUOTE] pinota, how do you plan on tuning the bigger injectors? V-AFC or moded ECU?

I´m using the stock ECU, Apexi V-AFC and a B&M FPR and the greddy A/F metter.

I´m running low fuel pressure, only 50 psi wich is giving me about 310-320cc.
Until VTEC i´m leaning out -14% until 4k and increasing fuel until 5k with +5% at the VTEC opening. That gives me a lot of torque !!!
After VTEC the stock ECU parametters lean out a lot, so i have to add +14% from 5.5k to 7.5k and after that +5% until the rev limit cut.

This way i´m having very good A/F and power too.
13.3:1-13.5:1 before VTEC and 13.1:1-12.8:1 after VTEC. These A/F ratios are giving me very good results.

Before the Spoon cams setup i was running stock injectors at 58 psi,+- 287cc.
I thought with the Lude injectors i whould only run 43 psi to give me the same flow rate. With the Spoon cams i had to add more fuel, with the stock injectors i whould have to run over 70 psi to have the same flow rate i´m having right now, with the Lude injectors, wich whould kill the stock injectors very fast.

I´m planning to get a P28 ECU with some custom Kenji program to rev up to 9500 rpm.

especially guys with final drives' who may often drive on highways, a good idea in my opinion.

Did your mechanic also do work on the Lotus and Porsche?

If so, what part of the engine broke in those cars?

Nop, he just tuned them.

He had some Porches, a while ago with the gear box broken.

He´s expert on scoobye´s, EVO´s, Porche´s. I saw 3 months ago a BMW Z8, he was tuning the engine. Unbelievable !!!
