im thinking about building a turbo b18c eg for drag racing and i wont be happy with it until im competing with other low 10 second racers and maybe some day ill hit mid to low 9's who knows.

15k will will just cover the engine..the rest of the car such as suspension and **** like that also has to be done. so be prepared to spend alot of damn money.
these are all rough figures also assuming most of the work will be performed by you.
motor 3000
turbo kit 3000
intercooler 1000
pitons and rods 1000
stand alone engine management 1500
and the other 5k goes into building the rest of the engine misc parts. ignition intake manifold injectors fuel pump etc...
u dont need to sleeve a gsr motor to go 10's i have a friend goin 11.50's with an internally bone stock gsr engine.

I dont think it will cost 15k for JUST the engine...maybe like 6-7, but then you need a fuel system and tuning, and depending on which way you go with the fuel it will cost alot more
I'm currently building something similar, but I'll be happy with 11's. ****, I'd be happy with 15's compared to my current setup. Here's a breakdown of what it cost so far. Rough estimates, and all these prices include shipping charges, tax. Labor isn't even factored in yet (except for stuff like ceramic coating, sleeving the block, etc):
- T3/60-1 w/4-bolt turbine flange & ceramic coating $1000
- Oil return line $75
- Blowoff valve $250
- Wastegate $300
- Intercooler $600
- Hoses & clamps $150
- Exh manifold w/ceramic coating $500
- B18C1 swap $3000
- CM Stg V clutch $400
- Quaife LSD $800
- Pistons $500
- Rods $500
- GE sleeves $700
- Fuel pump $150
- Fuel lines $85
- Fuel pressure reg $130
- Fuel rail $80
- JG intake manifold $350
- 850cc injectors $400
- Ti retainers, springs $350
- Valves $300
- Hondata $500
- eCutout $180
- Piping $300
- Gauges $1000 (Defi tach, boost, egt)
- Profec-B $330
That's over $12k right there. And that's not even counting the slicks, Bogarts, roll cage, helmet, and all the necessary supporting hardware that I'll need. And unless you're going to install all this stuff yourself, labor is also going to cost you. So will tuning. It's not cheap. And in the end (and also at various points along the way heheh) you'll ask yourself whether it's worth it or not. Of course for each person that answer will be different, but for someone who's been rolling a stock DX hatch for half a year now, I can definately tell you my answer is YES -- godammit!

i spent 23k. More than i should of. If i would of bought the parts on here during group buys and stuff i would of got the parts cheaper, but the experience and craftsmanship going into my build is worth the money to me. I can't list out the prices individualy cause i just don't remember but. This is in a 00 civic coupe ex.

Oh yea, i'm still not done, i have the head to build, intake manifold, it's insane, i promise your project will never end.

there are many motor builders (such as myself - cheap plug) which can build you what you're looking for and give you a budget price within +-$1K.
It takes quite a bit, but you save the most money from depending on someone who has done it and knows what it takes. I did this 4 yrs ago and spent about $9K because I already had the chassis and motor, there are a lot more things now, the trick is to make it hookup at the track. The power will always be there.
Anywya, if you're serious feel free to IM me and I can pull together an estimate for you.

I wish i could tell you, i should have that info this weekend. Everytime the car is supposed to be ready, the damn thing breaks something or I keep on getting more parts to put on it. As long as it doen't rain this weekend i will post times and hopefully have a few kills to post. This is also in a untouched car. I would have left the rear seats in, but the cage would have punched holes right thru them. I'll also get a dyno graph to put up.
If you do the work yourself maybe $20,000 - $25,000 if you know what your doing, My friend spent about $30,000 on his Integra, 670hp at 20psi and the car is about 1,800 pounds this will probably get him into low 10's high 9's, we'll see on the next Battle Of the Imports. AEM spent like $200,000 on there Civic so $30,000 is not that much money right?
