I was recently given a hatch with a d15b2 block, pm9-8 head p05 computer and it has the smaller intake out of the vx/hf. It is a 5 speed. It gets spark with the plugs out of the block and attached to the spark plug. But with everything together and spraying starter fluid in it it doesn't even try to fire. The only code it's throwing is 16. Fuel injectors. I've tested them and they seem to be working right. If I'm getting fuel and spark why won't it crank? Timing also seems right as far as cam gear and rotor button. I've seen this car run before. It ran good. Just died on the previous owner so he gave up on it. Anybody have any suggestions?

 

I'd run a compression test to see if the motor is still healthy.

 

Ditto the above^^^, you need spark, fuel and compression for an engine to run.

Also checking spark the way you did is not correct, spark "acts" much differantly under pressure, pick up an HEI spark tester, they are not that expensive...

harbor freight has an inline spark tester for 4 bones. i have one and it works great.
