Hi there - have a Accord 92, - after removal of left driveshaft, - should there
be any play up and down at the intermidiate axle attached to the engine?

i have play in mine and I just haven't had a chance to go down to the junkyard and pull another intermediate shaft...there definitely shouldn't be any play where the axle enters the intermediate shaft. Mine currently makes a clunk sound when I stop and go. It just started doing this lately. When I went under to check and feel for what the issue was I wiggled that particular spot and saw the play.

i'm debating whether to take my old one apart to see what the issue is after i pick up a used one...if i do i will update this thread...gonna do it in a couple days or so

 

Mnnnnn thanks holmesnmanny,- yeah got that clunk noise too at stop and go
and especially when turning right. - When turning hub the inner joint sightly
moves up and down.......Is the inner bearing only retained by the circlips or
pressed into the engine bracket?

 

it's pressed in and held by a circlip...looking at my helms i'm guessing the bearing is bad
