Completed an auto to manual swap this past spring and installed a Quaife LSD. Swapped in an S40B000 transmission for a d16z6. I knew one of the driveshaft seals was on its way out and after the last auto-x event it finally gave up.

I'm using Honda MTF. I was considering upgrading. Some swear Honda MTF is the only fluid to use in a manual Honda transmission. Some others (in particular one VERY experienced Honda transmission expert) says he's using half Honda MTF and half Torco MTF in his d-series with a Quaife LSD. I've heard of some people using as loving Amsoil synthetic MTF. In my last manual transmission I used GM Synchromesh Friction Modifier for a grinding 3rd gear which helped immensely.

What do you suggest?

torco rtf. not cheap but works great.

 

Likely worth the additional cost to keep the transmission and more importantly the LSD healthy. Damn thing is pricey!

 

Torco MTF. I don't see the need for RTF here.
