I've searched pretty extensively and can't seem to find a definitive answer except to "buy innovative swap axles". Either this is too basic of a situation, or B swaps aren't all the rage anymore. All the threads are OLDDDDD with a lot of assumptions, but no fact.

Innovative didn't seem interested in telling me what OEM combo would work - they want me to buy their swap axles (understandable).

I would love to do that, but I'm trying to do this on a budget.

91 EF. Innovative Steel B swap mounts. B20. Cable DA trasmission w/intermediate shaft.

Can I use DA axles? DA axles with the dust rings removed from the hubs? Need advice!

I found a few threads saying that DA axles "should" work, but I want to make sure.

I don't see why. They don't go anywhere near the axles.

 

Sorry I wasn't clear - I'm talking about the seal/ring on the axle side (inside) of the knuckle. It presses into the backside of the knuckle similar to an axle seal on a transmission. I've read people remove it in order to gain another 1/2" or so of clearance?

 

you're on the right path my friend. remove inner dust shield and use da axles. rule of thumb use what ever axles match the halfshaft you have.
