Hey guys,

91 crx si stock everything. When the car is at idle sitting at a light in neutral im getting a lot of noise and clatter from the engine bay. Almost sounds like a rod is gonna go through the block. As soon as I clutch in the noise goes away. I'm not sure what this is, clutch and throwout bearing were replaced together about 15k miles ago.

Also as I am driving and accelerating the tranny wines. Almost like straight cut gears. I'm sure this tranny is done but just wanna hear any other suggestions.

Sounds like the throw-out bearing.

 

your clutch is going out as well. so more than likely youll need pressure plate and new clutch plate. a clutch kit should come with new throwout bearing and flywheel bearing

 

I'd check the fluid level first. And make sure the clutch cable is adjusted properly. But it sounds like you're experiencing bad input shaft bearing noise.
