Default Z6 dizzy on d15b

So I'm new to the Honda thing and I'm having a pretty big problem. I bought a 95 ex coupe with a D15B vtec in it. I'm trying to replace the dizzy, but the Z6 one I bought will not line up. I'm guessing I need to modify it, but I have not found one page that is of any help. If this doesn't work I'm forced to sell the car as I'm a delivery driver so any help would be appreciated.

D15B7/D15B8 distributor is the one you want. You must have the OBD2 D15B Vtec, the OBD1 version uses a Z6 distributor.

Is there any way to tell the difference?

The mounting flange is different where it bolts to the head. Electronically both are the same. If you still have the old one you could swap the guts between the them if the new one is non-refundable or something.

I've already returned the new one. The one you recommended will arrive in the morning. Hopefully this one works. I've barely had it a week and I'm annoyed with it
