question about carbon tracking in distributor cap
so my car was randomly shutting off, losing power, etc..
i took the dist cap off and and found that the rotor was cracked,
i put a new dist cap and rotor in and now the car runs fine,
however, in the distributor cap I found carbon tracking,
could the cracked rotor button have caused this?
or should I replace the plug wires as well?
also,
any recommends for plug wires?

The carbon is from the rotor spining and making contract. They need to be changed every so often, I change mine between 30,000 and 50,000 miles. It take a minute to pop the cap off and have a quick look.
