I have a turbo d16 and its tuned on a basemap for my setup im running 6-7 psi so nothing much. Recently Ive been hearing tick when I give it gas and the ticking has gradually gotten louder. Could this be my valves? Valve adjustment? Valve Lifters? any suggestions

I know that, Not saying its right but ive had friends and know of people who have daily driven boosted d16's on basemaps for years without many issues. I understand its not the best I just need answers for my problem right now tho the ticking

Drain your oil make to make sure you didn't kill the bearings. D16 turbo can be fun but NEED to be tuned correctly just like any other engine. If you find bearing in the oil then its a good possibility detenation even so slight could've killed it. If you find nothing check you valve lash, do a leak down and once you figure out the issue be sure to get a proper tune.
