Hey,

My 2000 honda civic ex recently refused to start, and we're having trouble starting it up again. The sparkplugs are not sparking, but the engine turns over. We've replaced the coil, the sparkplugs, the icm, and the distributor cap and rotor. When we put a test light between the positive battery post and the negative on the coil and try to turn the engine over, it lights but it doesn't pulse. Does this indicate that the ecm needs to be replaced, or is something else wrong with it? Any suggestions on diagnosing from here? Thanks.

 

Does the fuel pump prime?
Have you checked your fuses and relays?

 

Test the igniter with a something that can read OHMs. You will need to remove the igniter from the distributor before testing.
