What is a cam adjust solenoid? I need to replace it.
Went to the mechanic. Paid for a diagnosis. Got a giant estimate. Decided to try and fix some of it myself.
But, when I want to search for the cam adjust solenoid, I couldn't find much out there. What is it? Anyone know where it is on the engine? Am I searching wrong for it? I eventually found the part for sale, but no where how to fix/install it.
Thanks for any help.

A quick google search made me think this is the vtec solenoid. No need to replace just get a new gasket and clean it thoroughly.
VTEC Doesn't involve the cam timing at all. It simply switches over to a different rocker to effect the lift and duration of the valve at a certain load and RPM. Your mechanic sounds like an idiot.
The hell is a cam adjust solenoid? Never heard of that out of my years of fixing Hondas. Lol.
He might've meant the VTEC solenoid.

I don't know. I just know it cost $200 bucks from him. I said no.
I found this, so I'm pretty sure it exists. I can't find out where it is in the engine though,

Where is it in the car's engine?
edit: I think it is the vtec solenoid. I saw pictures of it for my car and it looks the same. And, in the description it says, "Notes: Complete VTEC spool valve assembly, inc. solenoid."

There is no such damn thing as a cam adjustment solenoid. Literally and physically has nothing to do with cam timing what so ever. Now there is a VTEC solenoid, which is what your mechanic probably meant. Either way, if he said "cam solenoid" he shouldn't be anywhere near a damn Honda.
Just go clean your existing housing out and replace the solenoid, actuator, and pressure sensor O-rings. Like a 30$ fix that will take you about 20 minutes with proper tools.
