Default For all the ppl wanting a hybrid EM2..

briang posted this tonight on 7gcivic.com.

"Well, the Hasport K20A engine swap into our 01 Civic was completed a couple of weeks ago. The car looks and runs like stock. Two weeks ago we did the picture shoot of the install and the car for Honda Tuning magazine. It will appear in the December issue of Honda Tuning which will be out in December.

For those of you who are interested in doing the swap, the kit will be out in mid-November. I decided to push back the release date so that we could redesign the driver's side mount so that there is room for the factory battery.

Eventually (hopefully the next couple days), I will list the parts suggested for the swap. Along with pictures of the mounts and the engine swap. We are so busy I haven't been able to get to it yet. SEMA show is approaching quickly and the Civic is getting finishing touches, along with the three other cars we are bringing. But first, here are a few observations:

1) The Civic's engine bay has the same dimensions as the Civic Si, not the RSX. For that reason the RSX base model engine's intake manifold will not clear the core support.

2) The Civic Si radiator is a better fit than the RSX radiator, due to the location of the filler cap. The stock radiator's hose necks are in awkward positions and do not work well.

3) You will need the RSX or Civic Si subframe.

4) The 01-02 Civic engine harness contains the wiring for the primary O2 sensor, but not the RSX or Civic Si engine harness. This is a necessary part for code free operation so it has to be added. In the RSX or Si it is called the AFR (air fuel ratio) sensor, There is also a relay that goes along with it. The 01-02 Civic HX uses the same part. Use the HX wiring diagram for proper hookup. This part is for you Htown, it will fix your check engine light.

5) If you want powersteering, you will need to cut away some of the hood's underside support for pulley clearance. Use the RSX P/S hose, and return line.

6) The next two kits we do, will be B-series into the 01-02 Civic and K-series into the 96-00.

7) For those of you concerned about price, the good deal may eventually wind up being the K24 engine. For those of you who do not know, the K24 which is currently in the CRV, will be in the new Accord. Honda will produce and sell tens of thousands of these with 5 speeds and hundreds of thousands with automatics over the next few years.

The K24 has gobs of torque and is a real promising engine. Hondata has already started work on tunes for this engine. We are in the process of building one for our 02 Civic Si. I anticipate 240+ hp.

Also, the next upgrade for the 01 Civic is a turbo from Rev-Hard.

The future looks bright indeed.

Owning a 01+ Civic may not be so futile after all.
