Default H22? G23? K Series?

Hi guys. I'm new to the site but not to Hondas. I have a 1999 Honda Accord 2.3L F23A1 in her and I want to swap the engine for more power and torque. I've done my research and heard different angles on each of these engines and I need some more opinions. The H22A is one of my first options but then again I heard of the Frankenstein motor the G23. They both sound awesome but was wondering if anyone has tried any of these set ups in their Accords and how it went. Then theres the almighty K series and I would love that in my car but have heard their tough to fit into Accords. Anyone else heard that?? Oh and also, I wanna turbo it and maybe take it to the track every now and then. It's an auto tranny, which isn't staying in. Any help would be great thanx

See I was debating dropping a JT9D into my girlfriends Accord, but I didn't think the acceleration would be sufficient.

Hey,

Welcome.

I love my G23 motor. I had a H22 type R engine before which spun a bearing due to a bad oil pump. Thus i build the G23 with a comp of 9.8:1 and now the turbo is going on finally.

Compared to the H22, the G has more torgue bottom end, and pulls clean till 8000rpm. You already have the F23 block. If i was you i would throw in some K20 high comp pistons, and a H22 head with the right cams. Good management / I/H/E. You will be running a classy accord.

I have also ready on the K swap accord, sounds too difficult to me and i have street raced euro R with my H - lunched them easy. If you really want the King of Accord swaps for me... there is only one name ------ J32A or J35A ----

My 2 cents.

Regards

Smart choice, I hear those have no bottom end torque...

Not to be silly or detract from this awesome impending trainwreck, but I've actually been contemplating that swap. I'd probably just buy a DSM first, I've been getting the itch again.

awesome info thanx, and i've debated the j series but have heard that they don't produce as much speed but a hell of alot of toruqe. As for the G23, I think thats the way i'm gonna go for sure. Seems like definetly a unique set-up.

Not a bolt in swap. Honestly easier just to buy a damn H. But its your car.
