Its been for sale for a while now. The owner states that it consumes oil and needs new rings. I'm not sure how much it costs to have those replaced, but if thats the car's only problem and it still hasnt sold yet, maybe thats not its only problem.

I figured this was the case or why else would an R owner with a half decent car sell it for such a low price.

hmm if teh car it self is in good shape its still a deal to rebuild that motor it would still not make up the cost of a perfect R or you could even buy a hole new motor an still be around 18,800,

good point, its STILL an ITR. I say pull the motor put it on the side (rebuild in spare time as N/A beast). Drop in a b20 Vtec enjoy the boost, then drop back in the fully built N/A engine when you blow the b20 vtec . Then just chill wit N/A for life

I went and checked out the car. Im probably going to buy it if its not sold yet.

The car is clean, looks really good. The problem is, its burning oil and needs new rings. If the rings are messed up then so are the cylinder walls. I got a quote from import builders to fix it and they wanted $1500 bux, all they are going to do is put new rings and fix the walls. Labor is expensive not parts.

The front end was very clean, the interior was clean also. The seats were good, they had those wear marks on the side buckets BUT it wasnt A LOT, same wear that regular ITR seats have.

The fact that it burns oil scared a lotta people I guess.

If you have the means, and you can do most of the work yourself, you offer him like $12k and rebuild the motor and whatever else needs work. Hopefully body is ok. Then you have yourself a nice ITR.
