There is much more to VTEC than simply turnign on the solenoid. There are fuel tables in both the low and high cam that must be adjusted.
When tuning with a good system such as Hondata you will see that there are many parameters to change. Different setups require diffeerent VTEC points and the transiion point bay be different from setup to setup. There is also TPS and map pressure to take into cosideration. Hondata also impliments a VTEC window so that at WOT you can get earlier VTEC activation that at part throttle with may need a higher activation or no high cam at all.
