Default '00 Civic EX FWD D16Y8 to RWD F22C1 conversion

Hi guys. I was thinking about doing this conversion on my '00 Civic EX. Has anyone here tried this? What do I need in order to do this? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Actually yes, I know all the custom work, time, and money involved in this conversion. I was just asking to make sure I didn't left anything out. By the way, what's an AWD rex? Kinda like the sound of it. And just in case you where wondering, no, I don't have a lot of experience, but that doesn't stop me.

I'll start the build as soon as I can get my hands on a small pick-up to move around and go to work. I'll post pictures then.

AWD CRX conversion. Involves using the powertrain from an AWD Wagovan, or a CRV, and making it all fit under the CRX. Unfortunately, the rear differentials for all of those cars are made for stock applications, and don't handle added power or racing applications very well.

Have AWD conversions been done? Yes. Is there a lot of information out there about it? No. This is one of those things you'll have to figure out on your own if you want to do it. If you don't have a strong quality work ethic, a LOT of tools (basically a fully stocked shop at your disposal), and a lot of free time, it won't happen. This isn't me talking down to you, or shitting on your dreams, this is me being realistic.

Thanks for the info jbpnoman, I really appreciate it. The AWD rex conversion sounds nice but I don't have a CRX, and as you said, they don't handle racing applications too well so, I'll stick to the original plans. B18 or F22 swaps. Although I'm more interested on the RWD Civic. I got my fair share of tools and have a few co-workers with a ton of tools and even more experience than tools. I'll keep you posted on the progress once I start the build.

ok im part way through a rwd conversion. didn't ask.. I just researched and designed/ planned.. it didn't leak onto the net until well into the build. trust me asking will get you know where. Garunteed that no matter how much you have planned it requires x4 the work and time/ money blood sweat and tears to get things how you want them. If your prepared to be broke, tired, lonely and have no social life due to building from scratch then try your best at it

Thanks for the support MR Envy. I already don't have a social life so, bring it on rwd conversion.

Im sorry if my poor grammar upset you, but failing to see how that is important? The job is possible as proven but isn't to be taken lightly. I understand you lack the ability to think in such an out the box way.. as proven by your " I cant see my cam lobe" posts. Stick to just reading buddy and quit attempting to be a key board warrior. Cheers

You have done an awesome job on that build man, keep it up.

You can't just swap from an F20B to a C30A/C32B. Pick which one you want to go with, and stick to that one.
