Replaced Headgasket But Something Sounds Wrong.. Video Included
Good evening,
I was hoping I could get some input on the video below.
I got the car from another Marine in my unit because he was just tired of messing with it. So I worked on it and found a massive amount of problems the most serious thing was a blown headgasket that he didn't realize it had and kept driving it everyday.
After I fixed the headgasket, I had to put the car in storage because I was going on a deployment. After a few months, I found the video after I had fixed it, and decided to play it, and I could be hearing things, but it sounds like some thing is making a metal to metal contact, maybe something with the valves?
I tried looking up videos of similar work, but it sounds like mine has a problem.
I was hoping I could get someone to listen and see if im not just imagining things.
Thanks in advance, I can give more information, I was just trying to keep the post short.

I would ask if the OP confirmed valve timing before starting the engine and as mentioned, do a valve lash adjustment??? 94
yes, the Integra is a 94 ls.
the head was taken to a machine shop where is was cleaned up, valve job was done, checked for warpage, and was shaved a small amount.
when I got it back we replaced the headgasket, put the head back on, and torqued it to specifications.
waterpump and tensioner replaced, timimg was on top dead center was set on aligned cams.
valves were adjusted because I didnt label the rockers.
after completing I rotated the crankshaft for a long time and didnt have any problems, nothing felt forced, put everything back together and started it the next day. I recorded it, because I wanted to show someone.

Sounds like my d16y7 in my dx hmmm, I wouldn't worry about it at the moment it doesn't sound like the beginning of rod knock or anything like that. you can compression test it to see how healthy the engine is tho.
I'm still on deployment, but I'll probably be doing that once I get back.
I'm thinking about getting the valve adjustments checked as well as timing.
This was the first time I did a head gasket period. I didn't think it would run at all after I got done, I was pretty surprised.
